item to change. As far as why it takes a while for pressure to drop: You may have some trash in the fuel line that runs up to the Fuel Filter. The trash may settle back down into the line when the car is sitting. Then, when you start driving the car, the trash works its way back up to the filter? This is just a guess on my part. Again, I would change the filter. When you do the filter change, perhaps you could also flush out the fuel line between the tank and the filter. Good luck.
